Metallogenic belt of sedimentary manganese deposits in periphery of the Qaidam Basin:A manganese ore concentration area with great resource potential
In recent years, breakthrough progress has been made in the exploration of sedimentary manganese deposits in the Altun,Qilian and East Kunlun Mountains. From the perspective of spatial distribution characteristics, these manganese deposits are distributed along the periphery of the Qaidam Basin.Previous stud-ies have investigated the geological characteristics of individual mineral deposits, but there is a lack of research on why these manganese deposits distributed along the periphery of the Qaidam Basin were formed in the Middle-Neoproterozoic and Early Paleozoic. The relationship between these manganese deposits and the evolution of the Qaidam Block and surrounding orogen is still a lack of in-depth research and summary. This article analyzes the geological characteristics and occurrence patterns of sedimentary manganese deposits;reshaping the evolution processes of the original Tethys Ocean in northeast of Tibet,to provide assistance for a deeper understanding of the tectonic evolution of the original Tethyan region.
