Groundwater hydrochemical characteristics and human health risk assessment in the Yiluo River Basin
The groundwater quality status is closely linked to human health. To comprehensively understand the status and hydrochemical characteristics of shallow groundwater quality in the Yiluo River Basin,a total of 68 groups of groundwater samples collected in 2015 were selected for water quality assessment using the WQI method. The water chemical characteristics were analyzed by Piper three-line diagram,Shukarev hydrochemical classifica-tion,ion milligram equivalent concentration ratio method and Gibbs diagram; And the risk to human health of nitrate index was evaluated. The results of the study showed that:according to the WQI water quality classification method, the proportion of poor and extremely poor water samples was 51.5%,mainly distributed in the main urban area of Luoyang City and the areas of Mianchi County,Yima City,Xin'an County, and the east of Yanshi City, with the highest weighting value of nitrate, which was the key factor affecting water quality;Shallow groundwater was weakly alkaline,17.65%of the groundwater being brackish, and 82.35%was freshwater. The hydrochemical type of groundwater is dominated by HCO3·SO4-Ca type water, followed by HCO3-Ca type water; The main influencing factor of the hydrochemical composition of shallow groundwater is rock weathering, and it is also affected by human activities; The health risk of nitrate in the study area ishigh, and the health risk value HQ for children ranges from 0.0216 to 5.6850,and that for adultsranges from 0.0116 to 3.0450.After evaluation, there is a health risk ofthe main urban areas of Luoyang City,Yichuan County,Yima City and other areas in the groundwater environmental problems, especially the nitrate content of the changes should be taken seriously.
