Research on metallogenetic regulation of gold placer in middle reach of Aruwimi River,D.R. Congo
Congo Craton is a famous diamond placer and gold deposit cluster in types of green-stone belt, where occurs the numerous gold deposits in tropical rain forest of northeast D. R. Congo, abd no traffic roads to approach except boating or airborne landing. The high-grade gold placer abounds in middle reach of Aruwimi River, and a steady stream of original inhabitants came for gold washing around the clock. The grade of gold placer is high in 24.6 g/m3 after systematic sampling, belonging to the super-rich gold placer deposit. We can trace back to the placer originated greenstone belt gold deposits upstream, hosted in Archean granite-greenstone terrain of Congo Craton. The gold belt immigrated to Meso-neo-Proterozoic tectonic layers driven by Meso-Neo-Proterozoic Pan-African orogeny(1300-615 Ma),and the mountains in the western branch of East African Rift Valley uplifted intensely. Because of the rift depress during Cenozoic epoch, the primary gold deposits exposed and denudated gradually, and supplied gold grains for placer continuously. The distribution of super-rich gold placer proves to be the important prospecting indicator for exploration path.
