Evolutionary Analysis of the Value-added Trade Network in Manufacturing of the Belt and Road
The formation and evolution of trade network with countries from the"Belt and Road"(the"B&R")has brought new opportunities for China's manufacturing to move towards the mid-to—high end of the global value chain. For analyzing the structural characteristics of the manufacturing trade network in the Belt and Road, the spatial spillover path and the evolution of China's industry status, this paper construct the value-added trade network which involve the manufacturing industry even the 14 sub-sectors.It is found that the above networks present a closely-connected pattern of"small world"and have spatial spillover effects;countries that are geographically and economically adjacent are more likely to form agglomeration, but the trade spillover path gradually tends to"join the strong and help the weak".China is a stable leader in the core position of the network, but there are structural differences at the level of industry:the centrality and trade intensity of labor-intensive manufacturing have gradually declined, but new compar-ative advantages have been formed in capital and knowledge-intensive networks.
