A Study on the Impact of RTA Environmental Provisions on ASEAN Green Product Export
In the context of the green transformation of international trade,a quantitative analysis was conducted on the development trends and depth differences of environmental provisions within 62 Regional Trade Agreements(RTA)involving ASEAN countries.Using an expanded gravity model, this study explores the impact of the depth of environmental provisions on the export of green products. It is found that the environmental provisions in RTAs show dynamic deepening characteristics;increasing the depth of environmental provisions can significantly promote the ex-port of green products;different types of provisions have varying trade-creating effects, with offensive provisions hav-ing the strongest impact, while defensive and neutral provisions have relatively weaker effects.Further analysis reveals that the promotion of environmental provisions on ASEAN's green product exports is primarily observed in developed country markets and for environment friendly products outside the APEC list.To seize the development opportunities of green trade,China and ASEAN should strengthen negotiations on green economic and trade rules, jointly promot-ing the sustainable development of the regional economy.
