Research on Economic Cooperation between Indonesia and the United States under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership
In November 2023,Indonesia and the United States upgraded their bilateral re-lations to a comprehensive strategic partnership,marking a new historic stage in bilateral rela-tions.This is the third upgrade of Indonesia-US relations since the 21st century.Indonesia is the largest economy in Southeast Asia.The United States has always attached importance to In-donesia's strategic position and regarded it as an important strategic partner in the Asia-Pacific region.From the perspective of the United States,the strategic security considerations for rela-tions with Indonesia are far higher than economic cooperation;but from the perspective of In-donesia,its development of relations with the United States is not only aimed at strategic secu-rity and defense,but also includes the development of economic cooperations with the United States.However,due to the inconsistency of keygoals between the two sides,the historical development of economic cooperation between Indonesia and the United States has not been smooth,and has undergone some adjustments.The new comprehensive strategic partnership agreement has strengthened the content of economic cooperation,providing new opportunities for Indonesia to strengthen economic cooperation with the United States.
