The concept and method of the ideological criticism of contemporary Western children's litera-ture have developed rapidly since the 1970s,and"ideological criticism"has since become one of the core terms of the theoretical criticism of Western children's literature. In the 1980s,researchers represented by Pe-ter Hollingdale opened up a new path for the ideological criticism of children's literature, and laid an important theoretical foundation. In the 1990s,researchers represented by John Stephens deepened the concept and un-derstanding of the ideological criticism of children's literature, and enriched and expanded the study in this field. The originality of the ideological criticism of Western children's literature is typically reflected in the in-spection of and thought on the ideological relationship between the"children"and"adults".The ideological criticism of children's literature has largely changed the understanding of the"children/adults"relationship in the children's literature/culture texts in the Western children's literature circle, and then rewritten the concept and practice of the creation, reading and criticism of contemporary Western children's literature.
