On Three Major Strategies for Dealing with the Standardization Problem of Word Variants in Compiling Chinese Dictionaries
There are three major strategies for dealing with the standardization problem of word variants:trade-off method,differentiation method,and shelving method.An effective research method is exploring how to employ the three major strategies to handle the standardization problem of word variants by taking Modern Chinese Dictionary's compilation idea in dealing with word variants as an example.The three methods are not separate from each other,but rather an organic whole,so we cannot care for this and lose that.The three ma-jor strategies for dealing with the standardization problem of word variants have a certain reference for the com-pilation and modification of other Chinese dictionaries and the formulation of standardization documents of word variants.
