Shallow Understanding of the Location of"Dongwuzeting"Recorded in Xuanquan Bamboo Slips of the Han Dynasty(Ⅱ)
The book consisting of three slips in Xuanquan Bamboo Slips of the Han Dynasty(Ⅱ)com-pletely records the related situation of Dongwuzeting,Guangzhi County,Dunhuang Prefecture.However,due to the limited historical materials,there is no conclusion as to the location of Dongwuzeting.According to his-torical documents and archaeological findings,there exists a wide lake system in the lower reaches of Shule River in the west of present Guazhou County and the north of Jieshanzi in the Han and Tang Dynasties,and Wuze is one stretch of the lakes.This place is also the main agricultural reclamation area of Dunhuang.There-fore,"Dongwuzeting"recorded in Xuanquan Bamboo Slips of the Han Dynasty is located nearby,that is,the area of Lucaogou City,12 kilometers southwest of present Liugong Village,Nancha Town,Guazhou County.In the period of Sixteen States in the Wei and Jin Dynasties,Duanye of Beiliang sets up Wuze County here.After Wuze County merges into Changle County in the Sui Dynasty,the historical place name of Wuze disap-pears.
