Strengthening the Construction of Academic Journals,and Deepening the Research into Country and Area Studies:Summary of"Second National High-Level Forum for Journal Editors in Chief of Country and Area Studies"
Country and area studies is a new interdisciplinary subject which appears in response to the development of the times and the strategic need of the country,and its independent knowledge system con-struction is a systematic project.As an important support for the development of this systematic project,the construction of matched periodicals and columns is closely related to the discipline construction of country and area studies.With the theme of"country and area studies'construction of academic journals and'three big systems'and exchange of experiences in running journals","Second National High-Level Forum for Journal Editors in Chief of Country and Area Studies"was held in Yantai from August 19 to 21,2024.The partici-pants carried out a deep exploration of country and area studies'subject positioning,subject research content,and significance of journals and columns construction,summarized the current situation and existing problems of country and area studies'subject development and the construction of journals and columns in recent years,and pointed out the ways and directions of country and area studies'construction of journals and columns.The successful conduct of the forum has effectively promoted the coordinated advance and common prosperity of the construction of independent knowledge system of country and area studies,and the development of journals and columns.
