Spatial-temporal Evolution and Coordinated Development of Digital Economy and Eco-efficiency in the Yellow River basin
To accurately grasp the development level of the digital economy and eco-efficiency in the Yellow River basin,as well as the coordination between the two systems, this study focuses on the eight provinces(re-gions)in the Yellow River basin.Based on panel data from 2012 to 2021,the entropy-weighted TOPSIS method and the super-efficiency SBM model were used to analyze the spatial-temporal evolution characteristics of the digital economy and eco-efficiency in the Yellow River basin.Furthermore,a coupling coordination model was employed to analyze the coordinated development characteristics of the digital economy and eco-efficiency within the basin. The results are as follows.1)The overall development of the digital economy in the Yellow River basin is on the rise, but its development is unbalanced.Shandong Province and Shaanxi Province are at the forefront of development.2)The difference in eco-efficiency initially narrows and then widens, showing a polarized trend. It decreases from the east to the west, with the upstream area consistently being at a low level, and the middle and lower areas exhibiting greater volatility.3)The level of coordinated development between the digital economy and eco-efficiency has been upgraded from reluctant coordination to primary coordination. However, regional development imbalances persist.Only Shandong Province and Henan Province have achieved intermediate coordination level, while most provinces(regions)remain at the primary coordination level. The task of achieving coordinated development between digital economy and eco-efficiency still poses challenges.
