Cartesian Grid-based Prediction Method for Wave Slamming of Offshore Platforms
Due to the complexity of wave breaking during the slamming process,the prediction of wave slam-ming load is a major difficulty in the numerical simulation of offshore platform.Based on the Cartesian grid method,a three-dimensional numerical model for simulating the wave slamming process of offshore platforms was established in this paper.On the basis of the numerical method of the model,the accuracy of the model on wave generation and wave damping was verified.Then a semi-submersible platform was simulated to verify the accuracy of the model to simulate the wave slamming process.Finally,the model was used to investigate the wave slamming process of a four-column offshore platform.The results show that the present model is able to simulate wave breaking,run-up and slamming greatly in the process of wave slamming.
