Analysis of oral health-related quality of life and impact factors among peacekeeping troops
AIM:To investigate the oral health-related quality of life(OHRQoL)of peacekeeping troops and the impact factors during the epidemic.METHODS:Oral examination and OHRQoL evaluation were conducted a-mong 333 peacekeeping officers and soldiers in Lebanon by questionnaire survey, and the relationship between various factors and OHRQoL was analyzed by multiple regression.RESULTS:The self-reported toothache and caries loss in-dex(DMFT)were higher in patients with worse quality of life and psychological stress score(DQ-5)were not differ-ent among the population,DMFT was significantly negatively correlated with OHRQoL,and independent of the remai-ning factors.CONCLUSIONS:During the pandemic, peacekeeping officers and soldiers faced multiple adverse factors that affected their oral health and quality of life.Oral health education and services should be strengthened for peace-keeping officers and soldiers,so as to improve their mental fitness to cope with the epidemic and to ensure their physi-cal conditions for performing their duties.
