Study on Pulpal blood flow of premolars in young people
AIM:Laser doppler flowmetry(LDF)was used to measure Pulpal blood flow(PBF)in premolars of young people, analyzing the reference range and the impact of age, gender, and tooth position on PBF.METHODS:A cohort of 150 participants, consisting of students from Youjiang Medical College for Nationalities and Baise College,as well as patients from the Department of Stomatology at the Affiliated Hospital of Youjiang Medical College for Nationalities, were enlisted for this study.LDF was utilized to measure the PBF values of premolars. The LDF probe was positioned vertically 2~3 mm from the gingival margin of the buccal midline of the premolar using silicone rubber impression material. The findings were documented and factors influencing PBF were analyzed.RESULTS:①Healthy population premolar PBF reference range:Male maxillary first premolar:(10.19±4.28)PU;maxillary second premolar:(11.29±4.33)PU;mandibular first premolar(10.07±4.63)PU;the mandibular second premolar was(10.67±4.39)PU.Female:maxillary first premolar(10.20±4.68)PU;maxillary second premolar(10.57±4.22)PU;mandibular first premolar(9.46±4.15)PU;the mandibular second premolar was(10.35±4.78)PU.②Maxillary premolars had a higher PBF value than mandibular premolars with the same name(P<0.05).③The second premolar had a significantly higher PBF value than the first premolar(P<0.05).There was a slight positive correlation between the PBF of the two premolars(P<0.05).④There was no significant difference in PBF of homonymous teeth(P>0.05).⑤There were gender differences in PBF values of There were gender differences in PBF values of 25 teeth and 44 teeth(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Young people's maxillary premolars have higher PBF values than mandibular premolars, and second premolars have higher PBF values than first premolars in the same jaw.The PBF values of premolars in the same jaw are similar, making them suitable as control teeth.
