Reflections on the interdisciplinary talent cultivation model for postgraduate students in stomatology under the new medical science background
Stomatology is a crucial component of medical science, and one of the primary objectives in training graduate students in this field is to foster high-level clinical doctors who meet societal needs.Under the auspices of the"new medical science"initiative, there are notable challenges in the current training of stomatology graduate students, including their lagging behind scientific advancements, limited interaction with other disciplines, and a lack of initiative.Adopting an interdisciplinary approach that integrates medical humanities, medical engineering, medical science, and additional fields(denoted as"medicine+X")is essential to align graduate training with contemporary demands.Establishing a system for training professionals in stomatology within the context of"new medical science"is a pervasive issue faced by institutions of higher medical education. This paper addresses the limitations inherent in traditional stomatology graduate education and proposes objectives and strategies for training under the"new medical science"framework. These initiatives aim to enhance the quality of stomatology graduate training and cultivate high-quality,versatile,and innovative professionals.
