Application progress and clinical decision-making of digital navigation technology in the management of pulpal and periapical diseases
Digital navigation technology, represented by static navigation and dynamic navigation techniques,is an emerging medical technology that assists clinicians in treating complex pulp and periapical diseases by using 3D-printed guide plates or real-time navigation devices. These technologies embody the treatment philosophy of precision, safety, and minimal invasiveness. However, the accuracy of these technologies is subject to a multitude of influential factors including equipment's properties, patient's characteristics, and the clinician's skills. Therefore,in clinical practice, these factors should be taken into full consideration for decision-making.This article gives an overview of the operational procedures, clinical applications, and factors affecting the accuracy of navigation technology in the diagnosis and treatment of pulp and periapical diseases, which aims to provide practical guidance and references for real clinical scenario.
