Clinical evaluation of resin infiltration combined with microabrasion in the treatment of post-orthodontic white spot lesions
AIM:To compare the clinical efficacy of resin infiltration alone or resin infiltration combined with microabrasion in the treatment of white spot lesions on the post-orthodontic teeth, and provide reference for clinical treatment.METHODS:A total of 120 teeth with white spot lesions on the post-orthodontic teeth were selected and randomly divided into resin infiltration group and combined group(resin infiltration combined with microabrasion).Image J image analysis software was used to measure the area of white spot lesions and the total labial surface area of the affected teeth at 6 time points, and the area ratio(R)was calculated. The L,a,and b values of the white spot lesions area and the surrounding normal enamel area were measured by spectrophotometer to calculate ΔE.RESULTS:The treatment in the infiltration group and the combined group could reduce the area of white spot lesions and the ΔE value. The area of the combined group was smaller than that of the infiltration group at each time point(P<0.05),and the ΔE value of the combined group was smaller than that of the infiltration group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Resin infiltration combined with microabrasion has better clinical effect, and the effect is stable within 6 months.
