Analysis of factors influencing prognosis of single tooth loss repaired by autogenous tooth transplantation in elderly patients
AIM:To investigate the prognostic factors of single tooth loss repaired by autogenous tooth transplantation in the elderly.METHODS:The general data of 62 elderly patients with single tooth loss who received autologous tooth transplantation in our hospital were analyzed. After 24 months of follow-up,the prognosis was evaluated by retention rate and the patients were divided into retention group and failure group according to the proportion of dental implants in the total number of dental implants at the last visit.Comparing the relevant data of the two groups, univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analysis were used to analyze the influencing factors of the prognosis of autogenous tooth transplantation in the elderly.RESULTS:Among 62 elderly patients with autogenous dental transplantation,43 cases(69.35%)were classified as the survival group, and the remaining 19 cases(30.65%)were classified as the failure group.Univariate analysis showed that there were differences in age, smoking, alveolar bone height and donor time between the failure group and the retention group(P<0.05).Univariate and multivariate Logistic regression showed that smoking(OR=3.772,95%CI=1.250~11.378),insufficient alveolar bone height(OR=11.254,95%CI=1.236~102.466),long donor time(OR=1.760,95%CI=1.170~2.647)were the risk factors for dental graft failure in elderly patients after single tooth loss autograft restoration(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Smoking status, alveolar bone height in the affected area, and donor time are prognostic factors in elderly patients with single tooth missing autograft.Strict preoperative selection of indications and reduction of donor time can help improve the retention rate of autograft in elderly patients with autograft and obtain a relatively good prognosis.
