Study on Dental Developmental Anomalies of Inhe rited Permanent Teeth with Normal Development of Anterior Deciduous Teeth
AIM:To investigate the occurrence of dental development anomalies of inherited permanent teeth with normal development of anterior deciduous teeth in 3-6-year-old children.METHODS:A total of 1 7656 panoramic radiographs of 3-6-year-old children with deciduous dentition were collected from January 2022 to December 2023.The incidence of dental development anomalies of inherited permanent teeth was observed and analyzed.SPASS 24.0 software was used for statistical analysis.RESULTS:The total incidence of dental development anomalies of inherited permane nt teeth was 5.75%,which was higher in boys than in girls(P=0.000<0.01).The abnormal types of inherited permanent teeth include:supernumerary teeth,congenital permanent teeth absence and odontoma,among which supernumerary teeth is the most common,the incidence rate is 4.89%,and the male is more than the female(P=0.000<0.01).There were 76.13%of subjects had one supernum-erary tooth and 23.52%had two supernumerary teeth,and most of them occurred in maxillary midline region(98.73%).There were 157 subjects of congenital absence of inherited permanent anterior teeth(0.89%),63.69%of congenital absence of 1 tooth and 34.39%of congenital absence of 2 teeth.There were no significant differences between genders(P=0.552>0.05)and both sides(P=0.175>0.05).Maxillary absence was more than mandibular absence(P=0.001<0.05),and unilateral absence was more than bilateral absence(P=0.000<0.01).The most common subjects of congenital absence were maxillary cusp teeth(41.70%).Secondly,mandibular lateral incisor teeth was 18.83%.Third and fourth,maxillary lateral incisor teeth was18.39%and mandibular central incisor teeth was18.39%.There were 6 subjects with odontoma,the incidence was 0.03%.CONCLUSION:The incidence of dental development anomalies of inherited permanent teeth with normal development of anterior deciduous teeth is 5.75%,and there are three developmental abnormalities of inherited permanent teeth,which could lead to future abnormalities of permanent dentition.The application of panoramic radiograph can detect inherited permanent teeth and dentition abnormalities,early detection and diagnosis,so as to adopt active treatment plans.
