AIM:To explore the comprehensive nursing intervention during the Er:YAG laser treatment of dentine hypersensitivity(DH).METHODS:Forty-two patients who claimed DH in our department from January 2023 to June 2023 were selected as the subjects.Er:YAG laser treatment was performed to one hundred and eight teeth with DH.The patients were given comprehensive nursing intervention preoperatively, intraoperatively, and postoperatively. The immediate efficacy and 6 months postoperative efficacy as well as nursing satisfaction were evaluated.RESULTS:All patients were treated successfully without any nursing related discomfort. The percentages of teeth with obvious improvement of DH symptoms immediately and 6 months after the Er:YAG laser treatment were 98.1%(106/108)and 93.5%(101/108),respectively.The nursing satisfaction rate evaluated by the patients is 97.6%.Comparing the MDAS score before the Er:YAG laser treatment,it was significantly lower immediately after the treatment and 6 months post the treatment(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:The implementation of comprehensive nursing intervention for Er:YAG laser treatment of patients with DH is conducive to ensuring the treatment completion, improving clinical efficacy, alleviating anxiety, and increasing nursing satisfaction.
