Study on the Effect of Campus Plant Seasonal Landscape on College Students'Physical and Mental Health
Contemporary college students face challenges from social, interpersonal, and academic expectations, and the rapid changes and pressures of the environment can easily lead to negative emotions.Campus green space,as the natural environment most con-tacted by college students in their daily lives, impacts their physical and mental health.Still, more needs to be done to address the impact of landscape seasonal changes on human health. Therefore, this study took the Jinshan Campus of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University as the study area and used the seasonal landscape of campus plants as the visual stimulus.Sixty college students were selected as the experimental subjects. The biofeedback measurement method and psychometric method were used to measure the changes in physiological indicators(blood pressure, pulse, skin conductance, heart rate variability)and psycho-logical indicators(anxiety)before and after viewing the landscape of plants in different seasons to investigate the effects of the campus plant landscape on college students'physical and mental health in other seasons. The study examined the impact of plant landscapes on college students'physical and mental health in different seasons and the effects of gender on the recovery effect. The results of the study showed that compared with the control group, the landscape had the most significant therapeutic effect on diastolic blood pressure, pulse rate, skin conductivity, heart rate variability LF/HF,and anxiety in spring, followed by fall, and the least restorative effect in summer.Secondly, only the LF/HF value of each index significantly differed between men and women. In further analysis of the mean difference of each index between men and women before and after the experiment,it was found that men were better than women in physiological indexes.Women were better than men in psychological indexes as a whole. The results of this study can provide a more prosperous theoretical basis for creating a campus plant seasonal land-scape and promote the construction of a campus restorative environment.
