Study on the Impact of Different Series of Horticultural Activities on the Physical and Mental Health of College Students
To explore the health benefits of horticultural activities on the physical and mental health of college students,this study de-signed a series of rosemary activities and different color scheme flower arrangement activities and measured physiological in-dicators(blood pressure,heart rate,fingertip pulse)and psychological indicators(concise mood state scale)before and after the activities.The results showed that handmade Rosmarinus officinalis fragrance circles significantly reduced blood pressure and heart rate among college students and had the best improvement effect on emotions such as tension,depression,and anger.Uni-lateral essential oil sniffing can significantly reduce fingertip pulse.Flower arrangement activities with different color schemes can effectively enhance positive emotions,with yellow and white schemes having the best effect.Using living plants for hor-ticultural therapy is superior to plant essential oils,and incorporating artistic creations into horticultural activities can enhance healing effects.This study found that horticultural activities positively affect the physical and mental health of college students,which can provide a basis for the design of horticultural activities.
