Current Utilization and Future Prospectives of Aromatic Plant Resources of the Genus Rosa in Shanghai's Park Green Space
Genus Rosa is an important ornamental plant around the world.It can display rich aromatic qualities and has high ornamental,economic and medicinal values.This paper focuses on the aromatic resources of the genus Rosa,representing 25 green parks in the Shanghai area.Field visits are conducted to investigate the types,quantities,and forms of the rose resources.The focus is on ancient aromatic varieties and wild species,of which the utilization frequency in the survey of park green space is also analyzed.Field visits are conducted during spring,summer and autumn to investigate representatives of different aromatic varieties.The characteristics of habit,ornamental and aromatic properties are also summarized.In conclusion,the existing issues are summarized from the perspective of utilization of application types,forms and science popularization contents.It is advocated that the use of aromatic wild species and ancient resources of Rosa in urban garden construction can enhance sensory landscapes and increase the value of landscape design.We call for the protection of biodiversity by greater utilization of some lesser-known species.
