Objective To analyze the incidence trend and epidemiological characteristics of mumps in Yulin City from 2014 to 2021,and to provide a reference basis for the development of prevention and control measures.Methods The incidence data of mumps in Yulin City from 2014 to 2021 were retrieved from the China Disease Control and Prevention Information System,and the descriptive epidemiological methods were used for statistical analysis.Results A total of 2 263 cases of mumps were reported in Yulin City from 2014 to 2021,with an average annual reported incidence rate of 10.62/100 000,and the highest incidence rate of mumps in 2018.Cases were reported in all months of the year,characterized by seasonal double peaks(April to July and November to January of the following year).The incidence was concentrated in the group of 3 to<15 years old group,accounting for 83.25%of the total number of cases.The incidence was higher in the group of 3 to<9 years old group,accounting for 56.92%of the total number of cases.Primary and secondary school students,nursery children and scattered children were the main incidence population,accounting for 89.88%of the total number of cases.The gender ratio of males to females was 1.49:1.A total of 2 public health emergencies caused by mumps were reported from 2014 to 2021,all of which occurred in schools,with 236 cases reported,accounting for 10.43%of the total number of cases.Conclusion The overall incidence rate of mumps in Yulin City has been trending downward from year to year from 2014 to 2021,but the risk of school outbreaks still existed.
