Objective To analyze the supply and demand of blood products in central blood stations of different prefecture-level cities in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Methods The blood supply, demand, blood donation situation and blood groups allocation(A,B,AB,O)in central blood stations of Baise,Hechi,Qinzhou,Beihai and Chongzuo City in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were investigated between March 2020 and February 2021.The supply and demand of blood products, and their qualification rates in different blood stations were compared by Chi-square analysis. Results In the central blood stations of the five prefecture-level cities in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region,supply/demand ratios of erythrocytes were 102.61%,102.11%,98.20%,100.22%,and 97.75%;that of the platelets were 98.22%,98.47%,100.64%,98.19%,and 93.33%,and the differences between the blood stations of the five prefecture-level cities were statistically significant(x2=111.271,26.678,P<0.05).The blood supply of central blood stations of the five prefecture-level cities was relatively stable in all quarters, and the difference was not statistically significant(x2=0.168,0.030,0.414,0.190,0.082,0.281,4.391,0.018,3.390,0.122,P>0.05).There were statistically significant differences in supply/demand ratio of erythrocytes among different central blood stations of the five prefecture-level cities(x2=167.241,157.394,142.751,232.452,P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the total unqualified rate of blood samples detection among different central blood stations of the five prefecture-level cities(x2=3.268,4.096,2.865,1.705,P>0.05),but the detection rate of Treponema pallidum(TP)antibody in Baise was higher than that in other stations(x2=12.911,P<0.05).The blood donation facilities in the central blood stations of the five prefectural-level cities were relatively outdated and the allocation of human resources is insufficient, with a number of staff members as well as facilities such as workplaces,large-scale blood-collecting trucks, and fully automated blood separators still lacking. Conclusion In central blood stations of the five prefecture-level cities in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, erythrocytes blood supply can be mutually allocated, and the overall unqualified rate of blood samples detection is low. There are relatively insufficient erythrocytes or platelets in these stations, and there is still a lack of some facilities.
