Brucella is one of the pathogenic bacteria that pose a serious threat to human and animal health,is capable of inducing brucellosis,a zoonotic infectious disease.Brucella typing plays an important role in the diagnosis and epidemiological investigation of brucellosis.Its typing techniques are mainly phenotypic typing and genotyping.The former,being a traditional typing method,has found widespread application,while the latter has emerged as a primary focus of recent research endeavors.This paper reviews the Brucella typing methodologies utilized from both China and the rest of the world,offering insights for future reference.
