Objective To understand the intention and influencing factors of Human papilloma virus(HPV)vaccination among female medical students with different characteristics in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and to provide scientific basis for the promotion of HPV vaccine among college student populations in border areas. Methods From April to May 2022,a questionnaire survey was conducted among female medical students in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region by stratified random sampling based on the planned behavior theory model, and univariate and binary logistic regression analyses were conducted by SPSS 22.0.Results A total of 900 questionnaires were distributed and 887 valid questionnaires were collected, with an effective recovery rate of 98.56%.Of the 861 persons who had not received the HPV vaccine,801 were willing to receive the HPV vaccine, and the higher the cognition of HPV vaccine, the more female medical students who received external subjective normative effects, such as parents and schools, were more willing to be vaccinated.Binary logistic regression analysis showed that the grade(OR=2.114,95%CI:1.308-3.417),whether they had heard of cervical cancer(OR=2.370,95%CI:1.107-5.074),whether they had heard of HPV(OR=4.752,95%CI:2.056-10.984),whether they had heard of HPV vaccine(OR=2.685,95%CI:1.281-5.628),whether parents'attitude affected the intention of HPV vaccination(OR=0.246,95%CI:0.128-0.472)were the factors influencing the intention of HPV vaccination among female medical students. Conclusion Female medical students in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region have a high HPV vaccination intention, but the actual vaccination rate is not high.It should be combined with the characteristics of their behavioral attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control of HPV vaccine to give full play to the leading role of female medical student populations on other populations, focus on guiding the vaccination populations to develop health self-awareness,and differentially play an external promoting role to further eliminate obstacles to action etcetera.
