Objective To analyze the Human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)infection status among consultants at the voluntary counseling and testing(VCT)of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome(AIDS)in Jiangyin Center for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC),and to provide a scientific basis for the development of AIDS prevention and control measures. Methods HIV antibody testing was conducted on serum samples of individuals who visited the AIDS VCT clinic for counseling of the Jiangyin CDC from 2017 to 2021,and their case information and test results were analyzed. The comparison of rates was conducted using the Chi-square test, and the multivariate factor impact was analyzed using the logistic regression model. Results From 2017 to 2021,a total of 1 092 people received counseling and testing, and a total of 131 HIV antibody positive cases were detected, with a positive detection rate of 12.00%;there was a statistically significant difference in the HIV antibody positivity rate among the population tested in different years(x2=18.471,P<0.001).The ratio of male to female testing was 3.12∶1,and the HIV antibody positivity rate in males(14.27%)was significantly higher than that in females, with a statistically significant difference(x2=16.664,P<0.001).The HIV antibody positivity rate of consultants with a history of male-to-male sexual behavior was 32.20%,which was much higher than that of consultants with other counseling reasons, the difference was statistically significant(x2=119.070,P<0.001).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that male homosexual behavior was a high-risk factor for HIV infection. Conclusion VCT clinic is an important way for early detection of HIV-infected persons, and it is necessary to strengthen the detection and intervention of high-risk populations of AIDS through various publicity,so as to achieve early detection and treatment, and minimize the risk of transmission of HIV-infected persons.
