University student safety education is an effective practice for implementing the concept of over-all national security education.This form of education enhances students'safety awareness,fosters their ability to respond to emergencies,strengthens their self-protection skills,and improves their overall safety literacy and sense of social responsibility.It also enriches the content of ideological and political education in universities.Using the example of a safety education online course offered to freshmen at Peking Uni-versity Health Science Center over three consecutive years,this paper investigates the effectiveness of this approach through a course outcome survey.It explores ways to enhance the impact of safety education by transforming it from a knowledge-transfer classroom into a platform for cultivating practical skills and guid-ing values,thereby solidifying the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education.
