生脉散在中医方面已经历经了千年的临床应用，疗效之好，经久不衰。又是用于抢救热伤元气、津液耗伤、脉微欲绝的重症，也用于气阴两虚病人的补益剂。以往认为生脉注射液副作用较少，可是根据近年来各类有关报道发现，近年来有关生脉注射液不良反应越来越多。
