The Writing Time,Characteristics and Value of Luoping Chronicles During Kangxi Period in Qing Dynasty
At present,disputes arise in the academic circles over the time of the completion of the Luoping Chronicle compiled by Huang Dexun,Hu Chenghao,Zhou Qixian.In the study,the author believes that the time of the completion of the Luoping Chronicle is the 57th year of Kangxi Period(1718).Luoping,located in the southwest frontier,had no remarkable culture,education,and documentary records.According to the actual situation of Luoping,Huang Dexun compiled the"Luoping Prefecture Annals"with a reputation of"Luoping Collection"in early Qing Dynasty.Its main feature of the chronicles is the preface written by military and political officials,and the local ethnic as well as military characteristics of Luoping.It is concluded that the Annals is of great value in local governance,preservation of historical data and promotion of the integration of Luoping nationalities.
