On the"Yingzhizongce"and the Distribution Pattern of Camp and Xuns in Zhaotong Town
This article, based on the records of the"Yingzhizongce"(Four Camp System General Register of Zhaotong Town,Yunnan)during Daoguang Period(AD 1821-1850)discusses the establishment and distribution pattern of the four camps and their Xuntangs under Zhaotong Town in the Qing Dynasty. The article points out that due to the influence of geographical environment on population and transportation routes in Zhaotong in Qing Dynasty, the town of Zhaotong was subordinate to the four military camps of the front, left, right and the middle. The Xuntangs generally presents a characteristic of"chessboard"distribution of two camps of Xuntangs, and a"trunk"pattern of two Xuntangs, which is an important indication of the central government's"cultural and capital management, military suppression"administration system in Qing Dynasty after the Yongzheng(1723-1735)Reformation of the Bureaucratization of Native Officers.
