Research on the AntiPollution Performance of Karst Underground River System at Panxi's Dalongtan
Dalongtan,an underground river outlet, serves as a centralized karst water supply source for Huanning County,Jiangchuan District,Tonghai County, the west, south, and east shores of Fuxian Lake, the central urban area of Yuxi City, and the local area of Panxi. The presence of karst and exposed bedrock in the areas where the Dalongtan groundwater system recharges and and where runoff occurs degrades its inherent pollution prevention performance.Based on the investigation of its hydrogeological conditions, groundwater quality, and the unsaturated zone,PLEIK model adapted from the European model was used to evaluate its pollution prevention performance.Mapgis was chosen for spatial overlay calculation of the five evaluation indicators to obtain a map that rates the capabilities of groundwater pollution prevention in the study area. The results show that the overall groundwater pollution prevention performance of the study area is categorized as moderate, with 7.79%of the zones falling into the poor performance category,23.39%into the relatively poor performance category,39.93%into the moderate performance category,12.20%into the relatively high performance category and 16.70%into the high performance category. The areas with poor pollution prevention performance are the northeastern parts where karst is strongly developed, while the areas with better pollution prevention performance are the northern parts with thick cover layers.
