Impacts of Climatic Environment on the Yield and Quality of Potato in Eastern Yunnan
Using descriptive statistics and correlation analysis methods,we studied the impact of 19 bioclimatic factors, altitude, soil pH,and soil organic matter content on the yield and quality of potatoes in the eastern region of Yunnan. The results showed that within a certain range, the yield of potatoes was negatively correlated(p≤0.01)and with high statistical significance to the 7 climate factors of temperature(BIO1,BIO5,BIO6,BIO8,BIO9,BIO10 and BIO11)and soil pH.Low temperature and acidic soil were conducive to potato yield increase. The statistical analysis revealed an extremely significant positive correlation(p≤0.01)between the yield and 4 precipitation factors(BIO12,BIO13,BIO16,BIO18)as well as soil organic matter content.Reducing sugar was inversely and significantly tied(p≤0.01)to BIO15 and significantly positively correlated(p≤0.01)to BIO14 and soil pH.Starch was positively correlated(p≤0.05)with BIO14 and soil pH.Anthocyanins were significantly positively correlated(p≤0.01)with the daily temperature difference and BIO 12,and positively correlated(p≤0.05)with altitude.
