Optimization of Legal System for Sustainable Utilization of Wild Medicinal Materials in China from the Perspective of Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora
Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora aims to prevent the survival of wild-life from being threatened by international trade.Some of the wild animals and plants listed in the appendix have great medicinal value and are important sources of wild medicinal materials.Although China has specially formulated the Regulations on the Protection and Management of Wild Medicinal Materials for the purpose of protecting and rationally utilizing wild medicinal materials,it has not been revised since its promulgation,which can no longer adapt to the reality of sustainable utilization of wild medicinal materials and is not in harmony with the relevant provisions of the Convention.Therefore,it is urgent to clearly define the concept of"wild medicinal materi-als"in accordance with the Convention,adjust the list of protected wild medicinal species,and improve the system of hunting and trad-ing of wild medicinal materials.
