Effect of Nutritional Intervention on Quality of Life in Patients with Alcoholic Liver Cirrhosis
Objective To investigate the effect of nutritional intervention on the quality of life of patients with alcoholic liver cirrho-sis.Methods A total of 91 patients with alcoholic liver cirrhosis admitted to Beijing Youan Hospital,Capital Medical University from August 2017 to September 2023 were divided into three groups according block randomization, including 31 patients in the late evening snack add oral amino acid capsules(LES+OAA)group,32 patients in the late evening snack(LES)group and 28 patients in the control group(only abstainers). The liver function and quality of life scores of patients among the three groups were compared at baseline,1 month,3 months, and 6months of follow-up.Results There were no significant differences in alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspar-tate aminotransferase(AST),total bilirubin(TBiL)and albumin(ALB)among the three groups(P>0.05).During the follow-up pe-riod,quality of life scores in four fields, including physiological field, psychological field, social relation field and environmental field, were significantly improved in three groups(P<0.05).The quality of life score of LES+OAA group and LES group improved more sig-nificantly(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between LES+OAA group and LES group(P>0.05).Conclusion Nu-tritional intervention can improve the quality of life score of patients with alcoholic cirrhosis, and nutritional intervention based on LES should be adhered to for a long time.
