Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis is a three-dimensional spinal deformity. The current mainstay is the measurement of the degree of spinal curvature on spinal X-rays using the Cobb method. However, most of this method is measured manually and patients are exposed to ionizing radiation, which increases the risk of cancer. As medical technology advances, more and more imaging techniques are available. This article focuses on computer-assisted X-ray,ultrasound,CT,and MRI examinations, discussing the advantages and disadvantages of each method. It is hoped that in the future these assessment methods may provide a new way of thinking for clinical application or research.
