Objective To investigate the application value of BI-RADS 4 ultrasound in the differentiation of benign and malignant breast cancer patients. Methods Clinical data of 50 patients with Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System(BI-RADS)4 of breast nodules treated in Yancheng Maternal and Child Health Hospital from January 2023 to October 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. All of them were subjected to breast ultrasound examination. The diagnostic efficacy of breast ultrasound on benign and malignant breast nodules was analyzed with pathological laboratory results as the gold standard. The ultrasound signs of benign and malignant nodules were compared. Results The pathological results showed that 14 cases were malignant and 36 cases were benign.Breast ultrasound showed that 15 cases were malignant and 35 cases were benign. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of breast ultrasound were 85.71%,91.67%and 90.00%,Kappa value=0.849,indicating a high degree of consistency with pathological examination results. There were no significant differences between malignant nodules and benign nodules in age, single or multiple occurrence, internal echo and rear echo(P>0.05),but the diameter of malignant nodules was larger than that of benign nodules, and there were significant differences between malignant nodules and benign nodules in shape, edge, high echo halo, microcalcification, convergence sign, elastic score and blood flow distribution(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of BI-RADS 4 in the differentiation of benign and malignant breast ultrasound is significant, showing the different image characteristics of benign and malignant lesions, and can improve the diagnostic efficiency of breast cancer.
