Objective To analyze the value of multi-slice spiral CT(MSCT)in distinguishing benign and malignant thyroid lesions. Methods 70 patients with thyroid lesions admitted to Huantai County Qifeng Town Central Health Center from October 2020 to November 2023 were selected to receive MSCT examination.Pathological examination was used as the"gold standard"to analyze the results of MSCT examination of thyroid lesions and compare the imaging characteristics of benign and malignant thyroid lesions. Results Among the 70 patients,48 were malignant and 22 were benign confirmed by pathological results,46 were malignant and 21 were benign by MSCT detected. The sensitivity of MSCT was 93.75%(45/48),the specificity was 95.45%(21/22),the accuracy was 94.29%(66/70),the negative predictive value was 87.50%(21/24),and the positive predictive value was 97.83%(45/46).Cohen's Kappa coefficient showed that MSCT had excellent consistency with the"gold standard"(Kappa =0.871,P=0.000).The number of malignant lesions was 72.92%(35/48),the proportion of blurred boundary was 83.33%(40/48),the proportion of irregular shape was 77.08%(37/48)and the proportion of granular calcification was 68.75%(33/48).It was higher than that of benign lesions(31.82%(7/22),27.27%(6/22),36.36%(8/22),27.27%(6/22)(P<0.05).Conclusion MSCT can effectively diagnose benign and malignant thyroid lesions, and there are certain differences in the imaging characteristics of different types of lesions.
