Objective To study the value of color Doppler ultrasonography in the diagnosis of cervical lymph node metastasis in patients with thyroid cancer. Methods A total of 87 patients with thyroid cancer admitted to Tai'an Central Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected, all of whom were suspected to have cervical lymph node metastasis, underwent color Doppler ultrasonography. The diagnostic value of color Doppler ultrasonography was analyzed using pathological examination as the gold standard. Results Pathological diagnosis confirmed cervical lymph node metastasis in 56 cases and not metastasis in 31 cases.Cervical lymph node metastasis in 54 cases and non-metastasis in 33 cases were examined by color Doppler ultrasonography. The diagnostic sensitivity was 94.64%(53/56),the specificity was 96.77%(30/31),the accuracy was 95.40%(83/87),the positive predictive value was 98.15%(53/54)and the negative predictive value was 90.91%(30/33).Kappa value=0.901,highly consistent with pathological results. The ultrasonographic features of cortical thickening, blurred boundary, lymph node fusion and rich blood flow in thyroid cancer patients with cervical lymph node metastasis were significantly higher than those without cervical lymph node metastasis(P<0.05).In thyroid cancer patients with cervical lymph node metastasis, the pulsatility index and the maximum systolic peak flow velocity(Vmax)were significantly higher than those without cervical lymph node metastasis, and the resistance index was significantly lower than those without cervical lymph node metastasis(P<0.05).Conclusion Color Doppler ultrasonography has high accuracy and excellent diagnostic performance in the diagnosis of cervical lymph node metastasis in thyroid cancer patients, which can help to accurately detect and evaluate lymph node metastasis.
