Application value and parameter analysis of diffusion kurtosis magnetic resonance imaging in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant breast lesions
Objective To analyze the value of diffusion kurtosis magnetic resonance imaging(DKI)in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant breast lesions. Methods From July 2021 to July 2023,126 patients with breast lesions in Liaocheng Infectious Disease Hospital were selected, and all patients were examined by DKI.Using pathologic assessments as the"gold standard"to explore the value of DKI in distinguishing benign and malignant breast lesions.Additionally, the differences in parameters related to DKI between benign and malignant breast lesions were analyzed. Results Among 126 cases of breast lesions,39 cases were malignant and 87 cases were benign.A total of 37 cases were malignant and 89 cases were benign detected by DKI.With pathologic assessments as the"gold standard",the sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of DKI were 92.31%(36/39),98.85%(86/87),96.83%(122/126),97.30%(36/37)and 96.63%(86/89)in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant breast lesions.Kappa test showed that the results of DKI were in good agreement with those of gold standard(Kappa value=0.925).The mean diffusion kurtosis(MK),radial kurtosis(RK),axial kurtosis(AK)and anisotropy fraction(FA)values of patients with malignant breast lesions were higher than those with benign breast lesions, while the mean diffusion(MD)value was lower than those with benign breast lesions, with significant differences(P<0.001).Conclusion Diffusion kurtosis magnetic resonance imaging can effectively differentiate and diagnose benign and malignant breast diseases, providing certain reference information for clinical practice, and is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
