Objective To explore the clinical value of ultrasound in the early diagnosis of breast cancer.Methods 140 female patients who were found to have breast nodules during health examinations in hospitals from January 2021 to January 2024 were selected as the study subjects.The patients were examined with mammography and ultrasound,and the pathological diagnosis results of puncture biopsy were set as the gold standard for the diagnosis of breast cancer.The diagnostic results of mammography and ultrasound for breast cancer were compared,and the consistency between the diagnostic results of mammography and ultrasound and the pathological diagnosis results of puncture biopsy was analyzed.In patients with breast cancer,the diagnostic accuracy of two imaging methods for clinical staging of breast cancer was compared.Results Among 140 cases of breast nodules,81 cases of breast nodules were confirmed as benign breast nodules by biopsy pathology,and 59 cases of breast nodules were confirmed as breast cancer by biopsy pathology.In the qualitative diagnosis of breast nodules,the sensitivity,specificity,accuracy,positive predictive value and negative predictive value of ultrasound in the diagnosis of breast cancer were higher than those of mammography(P<0.05).In the qualitative diagnosis of breast nodules,the consistency between the mammography diagnosis results and the gold standard was moderate,with a Kappa value of 0.674.The consistency between the ultrasound diagnosis results and the gold standard was high,with a Kappa value of 0.915.Among the patients diagnosed with breast cancer,the coincidence rate of ultrasound in the diagnosis of breast cancer stage Ⅰ was higher than that of mammography(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between the two imaging methods in the diagnosis of breast cancer stage Ⅱ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ(P>0.05).Conclusion In the qualitative diagnosis of breast nodules,ultrasound can obtain more accurate diagnostic results than mammography.It can not only accurately differentiate breast cancer from benign breast nodules,but also accurately detect breast cancer in the early stage.Its diagnostic value is good.
