Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is an increasingly serious worldwide public health problem. It is a type of fatty liver disease associated with metabolic dysfunction, composed of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis.Obesity is not only closely related to the morbidity risk of NAFLD,but also to its pathophysiology and survival prognosis. In particular, visceral fat is an independent risk factor for NAFLD.The research progress on the relationship between visceral fat and NAFLD and its clinical application have been reviewed in present paper,in order to provide a reference for the diagnosis and treatment of NAFLD patients.
