Objective To explore the correlation between CT features of thymic epithelial tumors(TETs) and clinical and WHO simplified pathological classification. Methods The clinical, pathological and imaging data of 42 cases of patients with TETs confirmed by puncture pathology or surgical pathology in Gansu Provincial People 's Hospital from January 2016 to February 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. Based on the WHO simplified pathological classification, they were divided into low-risk thymoma group,high-risk thymoma group and thymic carcinoma group. The CT imaging features and clinical characteristics of each group were compared and analyzed. Results There was no statistically significant difference in chest pain or chest discomfort, intermittent cough and asymptomatic comparison between different simplified histological types (P>0.05). There was statistically significant difference in myasthenia gravis between different simplified histological types (P<0.05). There were statistically significant differences in CT features such as maximum diameter, shape, edge, calcification, cystic degeneration, necrosis, enhancement mode, macrovascular invasion, lymph node metastasis, pericardium, pleural metastasis, pericardium and pleural effusion among the three groups (P<0.05). Conclusion CT has good application value in the differential diagnosis of thymic epithelial tumors, and there is a certain correlation between the CT imaging characteristics of thymic epithelial tumors and clinical and WHO simplified pathological classification.
