Objective To explore the effect of medical quality information management model based on picture archiving and communication system/radiology information system(PACS/RIS) in medical quality control and management of imaging department. Methods A total of 1800 patients admitted to The Affiliated Shunde Hospital of Jinan University from January to December 2022 were selected as the control group before implementation, and 1800 patients admitted from January to December 2023 were selected as the observation group after implementation. Then according to the type of examination, the two groups of patients were evenly divided into digital radiography (DR) group,CT group and MRI group. At the same time, the patients were further divided into three categories:emergency, outpatient and inpatient according to the emergency degree and mode of treatment (400 cases of emergency,a total of 400 cases of outpatient and 400 cases of inpatient in DR;400 cases of emergency,400 cases of outpatient and 400 cases of inpatient in CT;400 cases of emergency,a total of 400 cases of outpatient and 400 cases of inpatient in MRI). The control group used the traditional quality control mode, and the observation group implemented the information quality control management mode based on PACS/RIS. The time from registration to examination, the time from examination to report review, the quality of image examination and the quality of report diagnosis were observed. Results The patients in the observation group who implemented the PACS/RIS quality control management model from the front desk registration to the imaging examination time, the time from the completion of the examination to the report review were shorter than those in the control group who implemented the traditional quality control evaluation model, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). However, there was no statistically significant difference in the time from examination to report review between the two groups of MRI inpatients (P>0.05). The image quality and report quality of the observation group implementing the PACS/RIS quality evaluation system were better than those of the control group implementing the traditional quality control evaluation model, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of PACS/RIS based medical quality information management mode in department of imaging for quality control can effectively shorten the inspection time and report time, improve the quality of images and reports, contribute to the construction of a reasonable and efficient imaging medical quality management system, and provide patients with more high-quality and efficient medical services.
