High-efficiency broadband rectifier for ambient RF energy harvesting
Rectifier circuits are essential in radio frequency(RF)energy harvesting systems,as they can convert RF energy into direct current. However, due to the nonlinear characteristics of the diodes used in the rectifier circuits, the rectification efficiency decreases with frequency variation. This paper proposes a broadband rectifier circuit to overcome this challenge. It comprises a short-circuited stub in series with the diode,an open-circuited stub parallel to the diode, and a multi-stage microstrip line structure to tune impedance matching,to realize high-efficiency conversion in the range of broadband. The proposed rectifier circuit reaches 50%conversion efficiency at an input power of 0 dBm in the range from 1.7 to 2.7 GHz,and the highest conversion efficiency is 63.3%.The proposed wideband rectifier is suitable for wireless energy harvesting system.
