通过字形排比分析,指出《说文》小篆之"殺"字实从殳从豕,当隶定为"豛",会以殳击杀豕之义;甲骨文和金文之"(戕)"字应从吴振武看法释为"殺",会杀人之意;甲骨文之"(剢)"字亦应释"殺",会杀猪之意,与"(戕)"是会意方式不同的异体字关系;甲骨文之"(蚊)(或(蚬))"字和师旂鼎之"(敉)"字均应释为"毙",会以攵(或殳)击虫且血滴四溅之意.
Abstract
Based on comparison and analysis of ehe relevant character forms,the paper points out that the Xiaozhuan(small seal script)form of the character"殺"(sha,to kill)in Shuowen Jiezi should be analyzed as composed of"殳"(shu,a non-blade weapon)and"豕".(shi,pig),which was later regulated in the clerical script system as"豛",literally"to kill a pig with a'殳'".The character"(戕)"in oracle bone and bronze inscriptions should be interpreted as"殺"as proposed by Wu Zhenwu,which literally refers to"killing a person".The character"(剢)"in oracle bone inscriptions should also be interpreted as"殺",which means"to kill a pig",a variant form of"(戕)".The character"(蚊)(or(蚬))"in oracle bone inscriptions and the character"(敉)"in the Shiqi tripod(师旂鼎)should be interpreted as"毙"((bi(),literally meaning"to hit a'虫'((hui(,an insect,snake,etc.)with a'攵'(pu,smack)or a'殳'(shu)and spatter blood all over".
