Digital Economy,Foreign Trade and High-quality Development of City Clusters in the Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River
Based on the panel data of the city cluster from 2010 to 2020 in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, this study examines the impact mechanism of the digital economy on high-quality development.A multidimensional evaluation system is constructed to analyze the spatial and temporal characteristics, followed by the application of a spatial Durbin model to explore the digital economy's effects. The results indicate that the digital economy exhibits an inverted"V"distribution from west to east, while high-quality development follows an"N"distribution, forming a circular pattern centered on provincial capitals. The digital economy shows a non-linear"slow then steep"growth effect on high-quality development and significantly boosts neighboring cities through spatial spillover effects.Additionally, foreign trade acts as a key transmission mechanism for promoting high-quality development. Finally, policy recommendations are provided to leverage the digital economy for advancing high-quality development.
