The Influence of Geographic Location on Population Size Changes in the County of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei City Cluster:Evaluation of the Effect of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Synergistic Development
The closer the distance to Beijing, the more conducive it is to the increase of population in the county area. The closer the distance to the provincial capital and port, the more conducive it is to the increase in population. But for counties with a large population size, the close distance to the provincial capital and the nearest port does not have as large a positive effect on population increase as Beijing's;And the close distance to the prefecture-level cities does not have a significant positive effect on population increase. In terms of different distances, the positive effect of Beijing on population increase in counties is greater than that of provincial capitals in areas within 200 km of Beijing;however, beyond 200 km,the positive effect of Beijing significantly weakens, and the positive effect of provincial capitals is greater than that of Beijing. From different periods, the positive effect of distance to Beijing on population increase was greater than that of the provincial capital during 2010-2014;during 2015-2019,the positive effect of distance to the provincial capital on population increase was greater than that of Beijing, and the closer the distance to the prefecture-level city, the more conducive it is to population growth in the region. It can be seen that with the implementation of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei synergistic development, the siphoning effect of Beijing on the surrounding areas is weakening, while the positive effect of the provincial capital on the development of the surrounding counties is increasing, which indicates that the mechanism of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei synergistic development may have been mediated through the provincial capital, rather than directly affecting the Hebei region around Beijing.
