In the research,US media reports on Hunan science and technology(from 2010 to 2022)are selected from NOW corpus and analyzed.The findings are as follows:(ⅰ)US media's concerns for Hunan science have greatly increased esp.from 2020 to 2022;(ⅱ)the media concerns mainly focused on drones and self-driving cars during 2010-2019,and on self-driving cars and Yuan Longping's hybrid rice from 2020 to 2022;(ⅲ)some reports were objective in some degree,but some were directly propagating the"China threat"or belittling and slandering the Chinese system.Through analysis of the concerns and the ideological factors in US media,this research provides a new perspective for interpreting these reports.
